ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Today, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Manoj Srivastava to serve as Chair of the Modernize Maryland Oversight Commission.
Srivastava is the Senior Vice President of Engineering at Tenable, Inc, a global cybersecurity company headquartered in Columbia, Maryland, and is the Maryland Chamber of Commerce’s representative on the Modernize Maryland Oversight Commission, whose mandate includes ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information held by the state concerning state residents, and modernizing Maryland’s IT and cybersecurity infrastructure.
"Maryland has work to do to reduce risks related to data privacy and improve customer service capacity," said Maryland State Senator Katie Fry Hester, Chair of the Joint Committee on Cybersecurity, IT and Biotechnology. "Mr. Srivastava brings the industry experience, technical expertise and sense of urgency necessary to lead the Modernize Maryland Commission through the critical process of bringing our IT into the 21st Century."

His appointment as Chair is a testament to his leadership and knowledge as a business and cybersecurity expert.”

Digital transformation results in an expanding cyberattack surface and it becomes essential to follow good cyber hygiene practices,” said Srivastava. “The Modernize Maryland Oversight Commission is at the forefront of ensuring that Maryland is taking a progressive approach for IT modernization and protecting its constituents and their data. I’m honored to serve as the Chair of this commission.”
Srivastava has been in the cybersecurity space for over 20 years in various executive and leadership positions at privately and publicly traded companies focused on building cybersecurity and networking solutions for small to large enterprises. Prior to Tenable, he was at CA, Inc., where he held key engineering roles building network forensics, and network infrastructure management solutions.
Srivastava is a Boardroom Certified Qualified Technology Expert for corporate governance and governing systemic risk in complex digital systems. He is passionate about increasing diversity in technical sectors and is an executive leader for the DEI initiatives at Tenable.
Srivastava holds a Masters in Computer Networking from NC State University and a Bachelors in Electronics and Communication from RV College of Engineering in Bangalore, India. He is a 20-year resident of Maryland and lives in Ellicott City, Maryland with his wife and two sons.
